As promised during our Fair Launch Auction and our subsequent Alchemist Crucible rewards event, any aKLIMA or alKLIMA tokens you've aquired are redeemable 1:1 for KLIMA.

However, in order to redeem your aKLIMA and alKLIMA tokens, you must first bridge them to Polygon. Only once your assets have been bridged can you use our token migration tool to redeem them for real KLIMA.

Polygon is a scaling solution for Ethereum, also called an "Ethereum side-chain" or an "Ethereum layer-2 solution". KlimaDAO has chosen to launch on Polygon, rather than the main Ethereum network, for two reasons;

1. 💸 Significantly lower transaction fees.
2. 🌳 Drastically smaller carbon footprint.

Let's get started.

1. Make sure your aKLIMA and alKLIMA tokens are visible in your Metamask under the "assets" tab. If they are not visible, click the ADD TOKEN button and add these custom addresses.

   • aKLIMA (token address on Ethereum): 0x6b4d5e9ec2acea23d4110f4803da99e25443c5df
   • alKLIMA (token address on Ethereum): 0x0f92565e9ba96918b2db48537616dd9d0b09502b

2. Make sure you have some ETH in your wallet. You will need enough to pay the network fee.

3. Go to Polygon's bridge app **https://wallet.polygon.technology/login**

4. Connect your Metamask wallet and confirm the Signature Request (this will not create any transaction fees)

5. Select AlphaKLIMA from the dropdown, click MAX

6. Click the large black TRANSFER button.

7. Read, understand, and confirm the dialog pop ups.

Polygon bridge dApp

1. Confirm the transactions in Metamask.

   👉 NOTE: You may need to click the "Transfer" button twice— once for approval, and a second time for the actual deposit. Look at the app to see your balances.

**Repeat the process for both aKLIMA and alKLIMA.

Note: once bridged these tokens will have new token addresses on Polygon.** If they are not visible, click the ADD TOKEN button and add these custom addresses.

Now, when the protocol goes live, you can proceed to dapp.klimadao.finance to redeem your KLIMA through the UI!
